چکیده

Background Simplification of antitretroviral treatment (ARV) is particularly important. If darunavir/ritonavir (DRV/r) can be used at a 800/100mg once a day (q.d.) on patients with a wild-type virus, it is recommended at a 600/100mg twice a day (b.i.d.) on pre-treated patients. POWER study suggests the similarity of efficiency of the 800/100 mg q.d. and 600/100mg b.i.d. in patients with a minimal number of DRV resistance mutations.

Treatment simplification to once daily darunavir/ritonavir guided by the darunavir inhibitory quotient in heavily pretreated HIV-infected patients.

BACKGROUND We explored a treatment simplification strategy to darunavir/ritonavir 900/100 mg once daily guided by the darunavir virtual inhibitory quotient (vIQ) in patients receiving salvage therapy with darunavir/ritonavir 600/100 mg twice daily. METHODS Open-label, randomized pilot study in HIV-infected patients on darunavir/ritonavir 600/100 mg twice daily (viral load <50 copies/ml; darun...

Efficacy of Once Daily Darunavir/Ritonavir in PI-Naïve, NNRTI-Experienced Patients in the ODIN Trial.

Background. An exploratory subanalysis of the ODIN trial was performed to evaluate the efficacy of darunavir/ritonavir (DRV/r) 800/100 mg OD versus 600/100 mg BID in patients who were NNRTI-experienced but PI-naïve. Methods. ODIN was a phase III, 48-week study comparing DRV/r OD versus BID in 590 treatment-experienced patients with no DRV resistance-associated mutations (RAMs) at screening. Pat...

Efficacy and safety of darunavir-ritonavir at week 48 in treatment-experienced patients with HIV-1 infection in POWER 1 and 2: a pooled subgroup analysis of data from two randomised trials.

BACKGROUND The continuing, randomised, multinational, phase IIB POWER 1 and 2 studies aim to evaluate efficacy and safety of darunavir in combination with low-dose ritonavir in treatment-experienced HIV-1-infected patients. We did a pooled subgroup analysis to update results at week 48 for patients receiving the recommended dose of darunavir-ritonavir compared with those receiving other proteas...

Efficacy and safety of darunavir/ritonavir in treatment-experienced HIV type-1 patients in the POWER 1, 2 and 3 trials at week 96.

BACKGROUND Long-term (96-week) efficacy and safety of the protease inhibitor (PI) darunavir coadministered with low-dose ritonavir (DRV/r) was evaluated in HIV type-1 (HIV-1)-infected patients with extensive prior treatment experience in the POWER 1, 2 and 3 trials. METHODS Patients with HIV-1 RNA>or=1,000 copies/ml and >or=1 primary PI mutation were randomized to receive either DRV/r 600/100...

Simplification from twice-daily to once-daily darunavir/ritonavir in a randomized trial among HIV-infected persons with HIV-1 RNA suppression on antiretroviral therapy.

BACKGROUND DRIVESHAFT is a randomized, open-label, 48-week clinical trial that examined virological outcomes and safety of antiretroviral simplification among virologically suppressed, treatment-experienced HIV-infected patients switching from darunavir/ritonavir (DRV/r) twice-daily-based regimens to a once-daily DRV/r component. METHODS HIV-infected adults with a stable antiretroviral regime...
